OUR MISSION

To help people get strong!
Why do we need to get strong?
As we age our body changes (as you would know!). Muscle mass is important as it is metabolically active and burns calories.
After the age of 25 years, our bodies lose muscle. The rate is about 2-4% every 10 years. This means, that by the age of 35, you could have lost 4% of your muscle, which means you are burning less calories than you were 10 years ago. So if in theory you are still eating the same amount of food, you will therefore gain a little weight as you are burning less calories due to the muscle loss.
And therefore by the age of 45 when you could have lost another 4% of your muscle mass, you would have gained weight again, assuming you are still eating the same.
Of course if you are eating/drinking more and not exercising then this will be an extra gain too!
But also strength is important as we age so we keep our body moving as it's supposed to. It means we can easily get up the stairs without getting out of breath, we can get up and down from the floor with the kids or grand kids easily, we can get in and out the car with no issues...it's about everyday life being good quality.
Being strong also prevents frailty and the risk of falls and breaking bones.
Being strong will improve your quality of life.
Strength training is great for weight loss, and more specifically fat loss. You don't need to spend hours doing cardio to lose weight! Strength training will burn fat and tone muscle and this will change the shape of your body.
And apart from anything, being strong is empowering! It gives you confidence and makes you feel good. If you don't believe us, give it a go!
